Commercial Dog Food

With so many commercial pet foods on the market, it can be difficult to determine which food is best for your pet. Even though most holistic veterinarians and other experts agree that a carefully balanced homemade diet made with organic foods is the best diet for pets, most pet owners are not able to regularly prepare homemade food for their pets. Commercial pet food is a convenient alternative for pet owners. By becoming well-informed consumers, pet owners can make the best commercial food selections for their pet.

It is important to know that being labeled...

Pet Dealers

Have you ever heard of a pet dealer? What they do is obtain animals for research. How they obtain them is questionable. Some hire what they call "bunchers" to get them. What these bunchers do is steal the family pet out of a residential yard. Another source of free pets is the "free to good home ads" in the newspaper. They represent themselves as people looking for a family pet. Then they take them and sell them to the middle man and then he turns around and sells them to research facility. A couple of questions here that we would like comments on. What should be the penalty for those who steal them? Is it right to sell pets to research facilities to use as a gunea pig to further the human cause or other things such as make up ect.

Compensation for vet bills or death-Dog Food Recall

Pet owners are not likely to get much compensation if they individually sue pet food-maker Menu Foods over the death of a dog or cat, although they might fare better if they joined forces in a class action suit, legal experts say. I would say you would get more suing individually, which you do if they allow it. Once there is a class action lawsuit most want you to file your claim under it.

Most states consider animals personal property rather then a family member. There are no damages no matter how emotional you are over your pet. Just the value on property is all you get.

Several people have racked up thousands of dollars in vet bills over this. I wonder how much they consider a dog’s worth. How much money do you put on the value of your pet and how much do you think a person is entitled to if the pet died or was sick? Post your comments.

History of English Bulldog

The English Bulldog is believed to have originated in the British Isles. The breed received its name from the ancient cruel sport of bull-baiting, when dogs were required to catch the bull by the nose and hold till the bull fell. The prized qualities of the medieval Bulldog were fierceness, aggression, and enormous perseverance to the extent of forgetting pain during the fight......

The Beautiful Bichon Frise

A Bichon Frisé often spelled Bichon Frise in English and pronounced as BEE-shon free-ZAY, is a small breed of dog. They are popular pets, similar to but larger than the Maltese. They are very intelligent and generally have happy dispositions. They are consummate companion dogs as they consider seeking attention their divine right. Born in the Mediterranean, the Bichon is a healthy breed, hardier than his powder-puff appearance suggests to the casual observer. The Bichon Frise beginnings are a bit obscure......

Pet Food Recall

At first the pet food wasn't on the list but now it is. My dogs seem to be doing fine since the recall. I guess what they say is true, if its not broke don't fix it.
